We often say, “once a Marymount girl, always a Marymount girl”, and at our Alumnae Reunion in London this month, this was clearly evident. The reunion was a wonderful reminder of the enduring bonds created through a Marymount education. Seeing former students reconnect with their school, with one another, and with our shared values was both wonderfully affirming and deeply heartening.

One of the greatest gifts we give our students is not only the education they receive while they are with us, but their place within a living, evolving Marymount network. While our students are still at school, they benefit enormously from being part of this Marymount network. Through mentoring, advice, career conversations, alumnae involvement in career fairs, and the generous sharing of first-hand experience of university life and the world of work, our alumnae help bring learning to life. These encounters broaden horizons, build confidence and enable our girls to imagine futures that are both aspirational and attainable.

When our students leave us, that network expands across 91 countries. It is a global community of Marymount graduates who are capable, principled and purposeful, and who are ready to support one another, share insights, offer guidance and open doors to opportunity. Spanning every field and profession, this is a network grounded not simply in connection, but in a shared understanding of what it means to lead with values and to contribute meaningfully to the world as global citizens.

This month’s reunion reminded us of the depth of connection that many Marymount alumnae feel long after they leave. It was, therefore, especially fitting to welcome alumnae Inés Guzmán and Amelia Lockhart-Hourigan back as guest speakers for the Class of 2026 graduation events this month. Inés (Class of 1981) is an Independent Non-Executive Director at one of Spain’s leading banks, with over 30 years of international experience in technology and business, where she has led major digital and AI-driven transformations across industries and countries. Amelia (Class of 2019) is currently training as a barrister, specialising in providing legal support for vulnerable individuals. Their return speaks powerfully to the strength of the relationships formed here and to a continuing sense of belonging long after school days are over.

Our alumnae, contributing across the world in all walks of life, are our greatest ambassadors. They are tangible evidence of the richness of a Marymount education and of the living out of our vision: “that all may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
